The Joy of Sprue
(Incorporating Yorkshire Veterans Model Group)

YORKSHIRE VETERANS MODEL GROUP
Modelling in whatever form it takes provides a 'focal point for endeavour' - a long-winded way of saying it provides a hobby that can be yours alone or shared with many others. People in all walks of life who get together to talk and share their interest in any hobby or pastime gain a sense of belonging and of shared values. If you provide support to a veteran in the family or your community, if you give advice and counselling on a professional basis, help out at one of the many 'breakfast clubs' or do voluntary work aimed to support our veterans - you will know that people who get together to talk and share their interest in any hobby or pastime gain a sense of belonging and of shared values - and so it is with modelling in all its diversity – and yes, its therapeutic value is well proven. At the end of the day, we all want to improve the health and wellbeing of Veterans in our area don’t we?
We are first and foremost an online group where we can show our models, encourage others now getting into modelling and exchange views on almost anything with a modelling connection. We also organise ‘workshop meetings’ in association with other veteran support groups and charities. These enable us to have regular contact with each other and open up channels where mutual interests bring us closer together. These (and other news) will be posted here and on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/2316120105118319/ . You can also contact us by email at: yvmodelgroup@outlook.com and we’ll get back to you!
